Cardiology FAQs
How do I prepare for the exam?
General instructions:
No preparation is required. During the examination, the patient should not wear anything metallic that might hinder the evaluation of the area examined, e.g. jewellery, hair clips, underwire bras, zippers or buttons.
What should I expect during the exam?
The patient will have to lay or stand and remain still during the exam while following specific breathing instructions from the technologist if needed. The patient may also be asked to remove any metal in the area being examined.
What should I expect after the exam?
The examinations are interpreted by board-certified radiologists. The results will be sent to the referring physician as soon as they are interpreted. The patient should contact the referring physician to discuss the results and ask for further recommendations.
